Speight’s Sponsorships

Speight's knows what matters, and in Otago that means rugby.

Speight’s has been a major sponsor of The Highlanders since it began in 1996. It is also testament to how they play the game which is based around playing under the roof at Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin the only covered stadium in the country. This allows the guys to play a fast brand of rugby, one which the fans enjoy. Make sure you get along to see it and support the lads.

Otago Rugby.

Speight’s sponsorship of Otago rugby stretches way back to 1989. In those days the team was actually called Speight’s Otago. They were the glory days of the House of Pain, Scarfies and burning couches. More recently it has been Otago that has felt the pain and Speight’s played a vital part of the rescue package that helped save the Otago Rugby Union in 2012. Rest assured, our commitment stretches into the foreseeable future. The lads will be working hard to put in a great performance this year by playing a great brand of rugby under the roof at Forsyth Barr Stadium.

If there’s one thing Speight’s knows how to do, it’s connect mates and through the Movember partnership that has spanned more than 6-years, the aim to is improve awareness, help raise funds and encourage those hard, but all-important deeper conversations about mental health.

In the most recent campaign, Speight’s called on Kiwi men to help their mates open up by using their arms and embracing the 6-second or longer hug to break the ice.
