3. How to enter the Speight’s Mates Super Rugby:
- You must be a registered Speight’s Mate at www.speights.co.nz.
- Upon registration, you will be asked to select your preferred Speight’s product - Speight’s Gold Medal Ale, Speight’s Summit Lager, or Speight’s Traverse. If you are a winner at any stage throughout the competition, the beer voucher you receive will be for the product you selected.
- Log onto www.speights.co.nz and set up your profile, either as an individual or as a team at the Speight’s Mates Super Rugby virtual rugby competition.
- All Speight’s Mates can play the Game for FREE.
- You may only register once per entrant.
- Anybody believed to have entered more than one profile will be disqualified and will not be eligible to win prizes.
- The Promoter may use its discretion to identify registrants who have entered more than 1 profile under different names, email addresses and identities.
4. The promotion commences on 03/02/2010 and closes on 29/06/2010.
5. How to play the Speight’s Mates Super Rugby game:
- The Speight’s Mates Super Rugby game is based on the 2010 Super 14 Season. You will score points based on your picks for all rounds and Final Series matches during the 2010 Super 14 season.
- The game will start from the first match on Friday, 12th February, 2010 and will run through to the final match on Saturday, 29th May, 2010.
- You must provide a unique name for your profile. Please note any names deemed inappropriate or offensive will not be allowed and teams will be disqualified and withdrawn from the game.
- To make your picks simply choose the result of each match during the 2010 Super 14 season and receive points for your successful picks. You can select a team to either:
a. Win +11 points
b. Win -10 Points
c. Draw
d. Loose -10 points
- Picks for each game must be entered and saved by the deadline of published time of kick-off for any match. You can make your picks by week/round or enter the entire season’s picks in one go.
- Once you have made your picks for a round you need to save them. You will not score any points for your picks if they have not been saved.
- Only the registered user may make or changes to his or her picks. Anyone found to be managing a profile that does not belong to them, on behalf of another game player or without their knowledge, will be removed and not eligible to win prizes.
6. Creating or joining a team:
- To create a team visit the Team page.
- A registered user may only 'Captain' (create) 1 team profile but may join up to 9 teams. Therefore one registered user can only belong to 10 teams. Any attempt to become a part of more than 10 teams will result in removal from the game.
- Once you have joined a team you cannot be moved into another team or removed from that team, unless the Promoter determines that you are not conducting yourself within the game with “Good Sporting Conduct”.
- The Team competition will only be entered by teams who qualify with the minimum number of registered users (five members) by 09th April 2010, which is 56 days after the start of the competition. All teams that are set up, or that achieve the minimum number of registered users (five members) after this date do not qualify for entry in to the team competition. Winners will be notified by e-mail or phone within 2 business days of winning.
- Any registered users that the Promoter determines are not conducting themselves within the game with ‘Good Sporting Conduct’ will be removed from the game. The Promoter's decision is final and the Promoter will not enter into any discussion about registered users that are disqualified.
- If a team has more than five members, only the ‘Captain’ of the team and the first four registered users to join the team will be eligible to win prizes.
- Duplicate teams entered into the team competition will be removed without question. Duplicate teams constitute those with the exact same profiles as another team’s.
- When you unsubscribe from the game this will take up to 72 hours to take effect.
7. How points are scored:
- Correct result (win):
- Correct result (draw):
- Incorrect result:
- Correct result and margin (win):
- Non-submission of picks for any given match
- Away team, with a point margin of 10 or less will be given as your selection by default.
- Late Entry
- The average points of all profiles submitted to date will be awarded.
8. Teams and individuals are eligible to win weekly prizes until 01/06/2010, with a maximum of 3 wins per prize level. The term “prize level” means each of 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place.
- If the team(s)/ individual(s) have won 3 times per prize level, they are to be excluded from subsequent weekly prize draws, i.e. they are not to appear in the weekly winners spreadsheet if this is the 4th time they come in 1st place.
- If a team / an individual is excluded for the weekly prize for that level, the prize level spot is not to be replaced by another team / individual, i.e. if the team has come in 1st place for the 4th time, 1st place winner is not specified. Therefore a prize for a 1st place winner will not be given away that week.
- You can only win 3 times for 1st place, 3 times for 2nd place, and 3 times for 3rd place. So a team / an individual can only win up to 9 weekly prizes throughout the whole competition.
- For the avoidance of doubt, any team / individual will be eligible to win the major prizes. If a team has more than five members, only the ‘Captain’ of the team and the first four registered users to join the team will be eligible to win the major prizes.
- The weekly prizes will be awarded to the teams / individuals who correctly pick the winning teams and score the most points per weekly fixture. Weekly prizes are:
- 1st Place: Beer voucher and Speight’s hoodie per team member
- 2nd Place: Beer voucher and Speight’s cooler bag per team member
- 3rd Place: Beer voucher per team member
- 1st Place: Beer voucher and Speight’s hoodie
- 2nd Place: Beer voucher and Speight’s cooler bag
- 3rd Place: Beer voucher
NOTE: the beer voucher will be based on the selection made by the registered user at the time of registration.
10. There are 16 weeks of weekly prizes, awarded every Tuesday from 16/02/2010 until Tuesday 01/06/2010.
11. There will be an additional three (3) random weekly ‘surprise’ prize draws to be won across the promotional period (total of 16 weeks). Prizes will be awarded to registered users who have not won previously in the competition.
12. The major prize will be awarded to the teams / individuals whose combined score from their weekly picks up to and include the semi-finals games (weeks 1–15) score the highest. Overall Team and Individual competition winners will be drawn after the semi-final game on Tuesday 25/05/2010.
13. The major prizes are:
- 1st place: 32inch LG TV, beer for a year (52 dozen) per team member

- 3rd Place: Beer for 10 weeks (10 dozen) per team member
- 1st Place: 32inch LG TV, beer for a year (52 dozen)
- 2nd Place: Beer for 6 months (26 dozen)
- 3rd Place: Beer for 10 weeks (10 dozen)
14. If in the event of a tie (for either weekly or major prizes), the winner will be the team / individual who registered first. Second tie will move to second place, and second place will move to 3rd place. 3rd place moves to 4th place - and is no longer a winner.
15. Beer voucher Prizes are not transferable and are not redeemable for cash. The judge’s decision is final and binding – no correspondence will be entered into. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for late, lost or misdirected entries. Entries will be deemed to be void if stolen, forged, mutilated or tampered with in any way.
16. In the event that any prize becomes unavailable for reasons beyond the Promoters control, the Promoter may substitute a prize of equal or greater value.
17. Major prize winners will be notified by phone within 2 business days of the draw. If the winner cannot be contacted within this period, declines the prize, the Promoter may redraw their prize.
18. The Promoter and its related bodies corporate shall not be liable for any loss, damage or injury suffered or sustained (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss or loss arising from negligence) arising directly or indirectly out of or in connection with the promotion or any prize.
19. Before the major, weekly and weekly ’surprise’ prizes are awarded, the winner and any other person/s sharing the prize with the winner will be required to sign a form to release the Promoter from, and indemnify the Promoter against, any and all liability arising from the use or participation in the prize.
20. Where any prize is provided by a third party that prize will subject to the terms and conditions of the third party supplier. The Promoter and its related bodies corporate are not responsible or liable for any direct or indirect loss suffered by any entrant as a direct or indirect result of the conduct of any third party supplier.
21. Details from all entries will be collected and used for the purposes of conducting this promotion (which may include disclosure to third parties for the purpose of processing and conducting the promotion) and for the publicity purposes surrounding this promotion.
